A first date can be extremely awkward. Both of you are nervous and trying to make a good first impression. Maybe you’re not the most confident person either, which makes keeping the conversation flowing a bit more difficult. When people become nervous and unsure of themselves, they tend to clam up, believing that it’s better to say nothing at all, than it is to say something and look stupid.
However, clamming up doesn’t work either. Sure, you might not look stupid, but you’ll still look boring. The man or woman sitting across from you will think there is no chemistry between you, and the second date will be a distant fantasy. Wouldn’t you like to avoid this eventuality and know how to keep a first date conversation flowing?
Wine
You don’t have to get your date drunk in order to loosen their tongues a bit. You shouldn’t get drunk either. Nothing is worse than getting punch drunk, saying something stupid or looking like a complete moron on the first date. But you can enjoy a glass of wine together, and use the alcohol to relax.
Add to this, a nice quiet, unthreatening atmosphere, such as a romantic restaurant and some candlelight, and you’ve got a recipe for success. If you want to keep a first date conversation flowing, keep some wine flowing as well!
Questions Answered
The best way to keep a the conversation flowing is to ask questions. Ask your date what he or she does for a living, what their interests and hobbies are or what they like to do to relax. You’ll get to know more about them, maybe get an idea for a second date and the conversation will flow naturally.
You also need to look interested when your date answers your questions. Don’t yawn, stretch, break eye contact to look at another guy or woman and never wear a bland expression. When they answer your questions, follow up with another one or add a tidbit of your own. Your questions will surely lead to them questioning you too, so be ready for that. Choose topics that you feel comfortable answering. By asking questions first, you can control the path of the conversation somewhat, so use this to your advantage.
There you have it. Keeping the conversation flowing on a first date is as easy as that. When you’re out on your next date, be sure to keep these two handy dating tips foremost in your mind, and you’re sure to be successful when conversing. Don’t let another date dwindle into the realm of awkward silences and rejection.
Paying More Attention

Communication is such an important factor in all relationships, business and personal alike, that it should come as no surprise that we need to discuss it here as well. What is communication, after all? It is the two-way interaction that occurs, both verbally and non-verbally. What is said with actions is as important, if not more so, than what is said with words. But here we’re going to focus our attention on the importance of verbal communication and what it will mean for your relationship. Keep in mind that when I talk about how things affect your relationship, I’m mainly concerned with your success in the realm of seduction.
Communication with words is something we all do on a daily basis. But, just like when you’re asked to give an impromptu speech, being asked to communicate in a particular situation just makes many of you cringe, lock up, and find yourself at a loss for words. Why? Mainly because when you have to think about what to say, you suddenly become concerned about what you’re saying. But if you just let it happen without any expectations, somehow everything works out a whole lot better.
That being said, think of your past relationships and where communication failed you. Was it something you said in a particular conversation that you came to regret later? Or was it something she said that you either treated as unimportant or simply didn’t hear at all? Or could it have been a time when you should have said something to her, but didn’t, and the results were equally regrettable? Surely all of these have happened to nearly everyone at one time or another. The trick is to not let these past failures define how you communicate now and in the future of your current relationship.
Talking is something we all think about when we hear the word ‘communication’. But, unfortunately, that first thought is the wrong one if you’re looking for a good relationship with potential for romance. Talking will get you nowhere, and worse, it may cause things to fall backward or even to fall apart. When you talk, you’re expecting someone else to listen.
But what about the listener? When does she get the chance to be heard? That’s why it’s so much better to change your view from one of simply talking, to one where you see communication as the carrying on of a conversation.

* Avoid dominating the conversation especially for men. Make it sure that your voice volume is in moderation and you talk with the person in a sincere manner. * No discussions about ex-partners and of course about sex. This goes both ways, no matter how the other person tempts you, be reminded that when out on a date, and you are in a conversation about such matters, less is more.
* Give the singular focus to your date. Do not be too distracted with other people around you, no matter how attractive the woman in at the next table is. Any person likes that attention from the opposite sex. Keep focused.
